Protoboard for 1590B enclosureThis board will definitely help you to build your DIY guitar pedal in the 1590B enclosure. Just built your effect circuit on the preperforated area of the PCB. Led, jacks and footswitch are mounted on the PCB, being only necessary to wi

Use a soldering pencil of 15-30W and solder wire of 1 mm diameter. The soldering will release fumes that are harmful to your eyes and lungs, work always in a well-ventilated area.
Warm up the soldering iron and clean the tip with a humid sponge. Heat the PCB pad and the component leg simultaneously and melt 1-3 mm of solder wire on the joint. Finally, cut the remaining of the component legs. Make sure the solder flows properly on both pad and component leg. If the solder has not been applied correctly, you could make a bad connection (cold solder joint). A good connection has to cover the joint without touching any adjacent pad.
Place the components on the footprints following the designators. You can place the components on both PCB sides if needed, just keep the correct polarity. Solder the components from small to big size: resistors, diodes, capacitors, transistors, potentiometers...
Mount the footswitch, jacks and diode in the enclosure. Adjust the high of the nut and washer of the footswitch. Use the enclosure to adjust the position of the components before soldering. To hold the DC jack, use a DC connector (wihtout power). Make sure this connector is centered in the hole and doesn’t touch the enclosure when inserted. For the 9V battery clip, pass the cables through the two holes near the battery pads. Solder the red wire to the positive pad (+) and black wire to the negative pad (-).
Connect the ground to the enclosure to reduce noise. Solder a cable between the pad marked as “GND” in the PCB and the footswitch washer.
